The wine is quite dark in color, on the nose are a mixture of lovely dark fruits. On the mid pallet are some very nice fruit forward cherries and cassis. There is a hint of oak and tobacco on the wine but nothing overpowering. On the finish the wine has some nicely balanced tannins and some complexity. For the price this wine is a good deal. I would give it an 89 or so. We paired it with a meat lasagna and it held up well but some of the subtle flavors of this wine are masked by food. Be sure and sip it on it’s own first. The wine needed no breathing, and I suspect this is a drink now style of wine so don’t plan on cellaring this one.
