2010 Cornalin La Crotta Di Vegneron

I encountered this one at an tasting at Jam Cafe. Cornalin is an obscure grape. The event was filled with this kind of unusual varietal wines. This one was one of the ones that stood out (for me). The wine is available from Appellation Wines. Garnet in color with a rustic pinot noir like nose. On the mid pallet this wine displays rustic notes, some strawberry flavors very reminiscent of a pinot noir. The wine is on the lighter side of medium in length with some soft tannins and some dryness. I would give it an 88-89. It’s $31.50 a bottle, but not in the LCBO. Contact Appelation wines for more information or the Winery. The wine is from the region of Valle D’Aosta in Italy.
