2009 Incrocio Manzoni 2.15 Az Agr Conte Collato

I encountered this one at an tasting at Jam Cafe. Incrocio Manzoni is an obscure grape. This one is a cross of Glera (formerly known as Prosecco) and Cabernet Sauvignon. The event was filled with this kind of unusual varietal wines. This one was one of the ones that stood out (for me). The wine is available from Appellation Wines. Dark in color with a nose of red berries reminiscent of a cab sauv. On the mid pallet this wine is a big round wine with lots of red berries again reminiscent of a cab sauv. The wine is on the lighter side of medium on the finish with fine tannins and nice dryness. I would give it a solid 89. $19.75 a bottle. Unfortunately not in the LCBO. Contact Appelation Wines for more info.
