2010 Morande Gran Reserva Pinot Noir mini review

I tasted this one at the Chilean wine festival. The Chilean’s really love there Reserva and Gran Reserva terms. Now if only they were legislated to mean something universally 🙂 I have to admit, I had not tasted a lot of Chilean Pinot Noirs. I love Niagara Pinot Noirs so I was curious to see how the Chilean ones stood up. Garnet in color with a lovely rustic varietal nose for a pinot. On the mid pallet the wine displays typical strawberries and rustic notes consistent with the nose. On the medium length finish the wine shows some nice dryness and smooth tannins. This is a nice smooth well made pinot. I would give it a solid 89. At $19.99 a bottle available from the winery by the case.
