Lungarotti Rubesco Sangiovese/Colorino 2012

Dark in color with a mild red berry nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice red berries and dried fruits to match the nose. There’s some noticeable oak present as well. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice smooth tannins, some vibrant acidity and some nice dryness. I would give it an 88 or so. We paired it with a filet mignon and it went well. It’s a simple well made fruit forward Sangiovese. Medium body and fruity as the LCBO characterize it is spot on.

from the LCBO web site:
STYLE – Medium-bodied & Fruity
Subtle aromas of plums and spices such as incense and cloves with some dried rose petal. Full body with round, soft tannins. Tangy acidity and a long, flavorful finish. Solid wine as always. Drink now. Score – 92. (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Oct. 29, 2015) $17.95
