SIMI CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013 mini review

Dark in color with a mild nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some mild cherries. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice dry tannins along with some nice complexity in the mouth. This wine is all about the finish, but the fruit is sadly lacking and over powered. I would give it an 87-88. Not a horrible wine by any means but not as good as past years either.

From the LCBO web site:
SIMI CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2013 Alexander Valley, Sonoma County TASTING NOTE: Bold, supple blue fruit gives this cabernet an impression of simple, healthy richness, while that exuberance is held in check by a tannic grip that seems to come from fruit skin as much as oak. It’s already accessible, but may gain additional dimension with a few years
in bottle. Well-priced and smartly crafted, it’s a wine for roast beef. Score: 90 (wineandspirits – magazine.com, Dec. 2015) Full-bodied & Firm 25221 (XD) 750 mL $24.95
