This is another of the Greek wines, I chose this one again because of the grape. The wine is Merlot (50%), Xinomavro (25%), Syrah (25%). Inky dark in color with nice mild black berry and wood nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some bigger bold black berries, almost blueberry notes. It’s quite intense. Hit almost immediately by some strong pepper notes that are quite vibrant. The pepper notes linger in the mouth. On the medium length finish the wine displays some solid acidity, gentle dryness and some tannins. For the price this wine is surprisingly bold and complex. I paired it with a veal rib chop and it went well and held it’s own. I would give it an 88.
