Grauburgunder is the German name for Pinot Gris. This one is pale in color with a mild peach nose. On the mid palate the wine matches the nose with soft stone fruit and peach notes. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice crisp and dry minerality. This is a lovely varietal pinot gris, a perfect food friendly, summer wine. I would give it an 88 or so. Sadly not in the LCBO, and as of now, Frey don’t even have a rep in Ontario, but I point this wine out as a hopeful example of what may eventually come! It’s currently $4EUR …
