Touraine as you may know is the little sister to Sancerre where here too, Sauv Blanc is the star. The wines are quite a bit less expensive than Sancerre’s. This one is pale in color with a nice citrus nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice vibrant citrus notes to match the nose along with some nice minerality. On the medium length finish the wine has some vibrant acidity with some nice mouth grip. Not as edgy as some, but still a very good Touraine. I would give it an 88 or so. Nice and dry! Quite nice for the price! Go get some!

Here’s another stunning value in Sauvignon Blanc from Touraine. Green melon, lime and peach blossom intermingle with hints of tropical fruit. Nice balance and freshness. Perfect for freshwater fish, it’ll also go nicely with lox and cream cheese. (Vintages panel, Nov. 2018)Read More
