Brella Pinot Noir 2014

Dark garnet in color with a mild red berry nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice rustic notes, and somewhere between a raspberry and a strawberry in flavor … On the lighter side of medium in length the wine displays some soft, smooth tannins and nice acidity, nice and dry! This is a well made, inexpensive Pinot noir, for the price it’s another bargain. I wouldn’t think this will keep all that long, I’d consider it more of a drink now kind a wine. I’d give it an -88 or so.

This elegant pinot noir has come into its own with softened tannins and a harmony of complex flavours. Notes of pepper, cedar, black cherry, bramble and tilled earth. Over time it has become notably less austere and, in fact, blossomed on the palate. Generous and richly textured with considerable length. Drink now or hold for another 2-3 years. Score – 90.
