Garnet in color with a nice red berry nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some nice ripe cherry notes along with some nice rustic and earthy notes. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice vibrant acidity and tannins with the dryness and acidity lingering beautifully. This is a lovely, complex pinot. This is an affordable introduction to Burgundy. It was a hot year in Europe so this shows a bit more colour depth and ripeness than normal, with pretty cran-raspberry, violet and fine scented oak. It is medium weight, nicely firm, a touch juicy with good tannin. I like the balance here, although it could use another year or two. Very good length. Score – 90.
