Dark in color with a nice dark cherry nose. On the mid palate the wine displays some lovely vibrant dark cherry notes, spot on varietal cab sauv, along with some nice dark chocolate and mocha notes. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice vibrant acidity and nice dry tannins. Quite a nice, spot on varietal cab with no errant herbal notes. We paired it with BBQ salmon and it went well. I would give it an 88 or so, which for the price is a great deal, yum! I will go back and grab more. The wine is 8g/l in residual sugar, but you wouldn’t know it. This would be perfect with red meats and not too overwhelming for salmon. Cabernet Sauvignon is a famously consistent traveller in that it retains its hallmark structure and core blackcurrant character pretty much anywhere it’s grown.
