I’ve had this one at a tasting before and was thrilled to see it come through the LCBO. Inky dark in color with a nice black berry nose. On the mid palate the wine matches the nose with lovely rich, black berries, black cheries and some mocha notes. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice smooth elegant tannins and good acidity. This is a nice, complex, elegant wine, not a bargain by any means but it is worth the money IMHO. It’s matured in all-French oak and while it’s mostly cabernet and merlot there’s a small portion of petit verdot in the mix. It’s medium weight and fluid with blackcurrant, milk chocolate and gravel notes slipping amiably through. It has shape and texture but integrity of fruit is key here.
