Dark in color with a red berry nose, offset straight out of the bottle by some medicinal notes that eased as it breathed. On the mid palate the wine displays some some strong tomato notes, overwhelming oak and strong acidity. On the medium length finish the wine displays some smooth tannins (about the only thing smooth about this wine) along with some lingering oak and red berries. This really is just way too young, it MAY improve, it may not. I tried it a day later after it sat in the bottle and it definitely softened and the oak was less dominant to the flavors, which to me confirms it’s just too young. If you can wait 6 months to a year this might be outsanding. For now I would give it an 87-88, and if I had more, I would return it. From the LCBO web site, check stock:
