Dark in color with a nice black berry nose … On the mid palate the displays lovely rich black berries, black cherries and the like to match the nose. On the medium length finish the wine displays some vibrant acidity smooth tannins and lovely dark chocolate/coffee notes and palate coating dryness … oh and a hint of peppery notes. This is a very good Bordeaux for the price, not as complex or velvety as more expensive wines but priced just right. We paired it with a grilled Filet Mignon and it was heaven, yum, I would give it an 88+! It should also improve with even as little as a year in the cellar. I often prefer when Cab Franc is in the mix as it is in this one, if even in small amounts. I wish the LCBO/the French were more upfront in the mix as they are with this wine. 45% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc. There is a lovely depth of fruit on the nose, the palate has beautiful density of dark cherries and smokey hints, with freshness and very silky tannins, lively refreshing and very satisfying. Score – 94. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2016)
