Pale golden in color with a nice apple and pear nose. On the mid palate the wine displays lovely apple and pear fruits along with some nice vanilla notes. On the medium length finish the wine is nice and dry with some creaminess coming through. This is somewhere in between in terms of oak influence, this is less oaked than one of my current goto favs, the Henry of Pelham Short Hills chard … I would give it an 88 or so, we paired it with grilled calamari and scallops and it was delicious, yumm, I will be going back to get more, not cheap, but yummy and another great Niagara oaked chard! Their Old Vine Chardonnay is barrel-fermented and aged for 11 months in oak and shows tropical fruit, lemon, apple, a snappy acidity and a pure minerality. It will drink through 2025+ with smoked cheese or grilled pork.
