Dark in color with a black berry nose. On the mid palate the wine delivers nice bold black cherries and the like. On the medium length finish the wine displays some nice bold tannins and acidity … nice and dry. When I buy a Nero d’Avola I expect an earthy, edgy wine, I was shocked at how refined this one is. Now given the price point I guess I should have expected it … I would give it an 88 or so. Quite an interesting wine if you’ve never had a Nero d’Avola, it’s certainly a good one.
